05.10.2024: The head’s been filled with Book 2: the writing, the continuing exploration, and then—once more out of the blue—has come up a sudden intersection, where Book 3 has arrived, flashed its high beam and pushed its way into the flow, appearing to desire some gestational nutriment. As it was, website updates had backed-up a little and between that and the need to manage a pesky scrub turkey trying to re-order the yard into its own image, the opportunity to think about the 3rd project allows me to keep doing something, thereby avoiding the P word (procrastination).
Here’s a bit on the following project, which, to be frank, I’ve not given a thought to in around twelve months.
Where the protagonist is at present, only the one he’s currently with, or the one he’s just left behind, can possibly answer to. His complete backstory isn’t yet known. There are many clues, but they’re so faint for the most part, a tracker would have difficulty following him as he goes off-road. It may never be completely known. It may be better that way. He keeps that sort of thing deep down in the basement. Whether there even exists a single individual who might answer all the questions thrown up by this next central character, even I can’t answer yet. And if there is somebody who knows him well enough, I can’t yet say if they’ll be willing to cooperate, willing to enter upon a far-flung web of souls.
You might have noticed the letters indicating the working title of Book 3 have been altered. That’s to freshen up thoughts about how it might all work in an overarching sense because there are…plans.
18.07.2023: The idea for S . . . . . . V . . . . . R . . . . . . . . C . . . . . came out of the blue.
I met a fellow, briefly, and although his company was engaging and enlightening, time was short, he said, eyeing those about us. He felt compelled to truncate our visit.
A friend who was taken by my description of this peculiar traveller, suggested there was a lot more to him, that his type: the one who always seems to be on his way to depart somewhere—in a manner free and easy, it would seem—was in fact the deeper type. Is he hiding something, running off? Does someone need him?
It was recommended I track him down, put some hard questions to him, discover what makes him tick, find out why the tendency to tack away when one too many eyes are on him. This one is always on the road to who knows where, or what, or whom...
