The Art of Compression

Two characters: a principal, the other a support—who may in fact be a foe in disguise—in a location amidst a crowd, or secluded and private, these are the makings of a scenario.

Here, something will happen because it always does, with events of commencement, continuation, or conclusion. In each of these the potential of a story exists, or no more than the hint of one: a story, a potentiality of a unique and wondrous outcome, imagined by each and every reader.
